Paddling Flint Creek and Skiing Bristol Mountain

Story: After a snowy November and December, we got a warming trend with rain. Rain + heavy snowpack --> heavy snowmelt --> flood! So four of us hit Flint Creek (after it had dropped to a relatively sane running level of ~1600 cfs).
It was the highest I'd ever run it. Double Drop was a sketchy rapid; we all decided to portage the bridge, because the high water meant that clearance under the bridge was iffy. Steve did see a line, so he changed his mind and went for it; he had to do a serious limbo to get under it.
There was great surfing all over. Despite the cold, we made good use of the great play opportunities.
After Flint, I headed for an hour or so of Bristol. The mountain had been damaged by the rain--losing such great trails as Universe, North Star, and Lower Challenger--butt there was good corn snow on many runs.

Tips: Watch out for wood at the Tubes! Come to think of it, watch out for wood all over Flint, expecially when there's been high water.
