Story:
The Hungryland Slough Natural Area is located in northwestern Palm Beach County, on the south side of the Bee Line Highway. It lies between the J. W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area and the North County General Aviation Airport. At one time, it was destined to become another bedroom community. In fact, rough roads were bulldozed, and canals dug for that purpose. Fortunately, the county managed to buy the land, and have spent several years undoing the roads and canals to restore the wetlands. The land is still scarred by the roads, and will be for many years to come, but the hydrology of the area has been restored.
While we were Geocaching in this NA, we saw numerous wading birds, woodpeckers, Raccoon tracks, Deer tracks, Bobcat tracks, and also saw three Feral Pigs.
