Story:
The family spent Sprint Break in Boston this year. We went to all the tourist spots and one of the most memorable was our work through the historical district of Boston... the so called Freedom Trail. We covered places the following places: Boston Commons, The State House, St Paul's Cathedral, John Hancock's grave, Old City Hall, The Old State House, Fanueil Hall, Quincy Market, Paul Revere's House, St Stephen's Church, the Old North Church, Copp's Hill Burying Ground, and the newly built Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge. This was a fun walk, with lots of really old historical sites. Unlike many of the historic cities we visited, the historic buildings are right next to towering skyscrapers.
Tips:
Bring a guide book. It tells you the stories of the buildings and the historic sites. The historic walk is well labeled with lots of signs and markers. The Faneuil Hall tourist center has an excellent tour with a lecture by a member of the park service. Worth waiting for.
