Story:
This Hike is out of the Nelder Grove Campground (interpretive area) in the Sierra National Park. The approx. 10.5 mile hike has an elevation change of 1133 ft. (238 dn, 1133 up, then 892 down). It is a moderate hike.
We proceeded down the fireroad (5S19) until the junction with 6S90. We proceeded about 3 miles on 6S90 towards Sugar pine until the junction of 5S18. After climbing for about 2.5 miles, we reached a clearing that was the start of the single track trail. This trail then climbed quite steeply until the summit, where it pretty much leveled off. This section of the trail passed several old growth giant Sequoia trees, old Grandad, the haynesworth tree, Kiowa, and clothespin. Clearing the sequoia's, we proceeded back down through pine to the campground.
