Story:
This was probably the second most productive day in our entire trip despite the fact that we had only 4 to 5 hrs of fishing before heading back to the port to go home. The river channels at this part of the dam is much deeper and broader with loads of 'small channels'. The fishers here are also under less fishing pressure which explains why the tomans rose to the surface in a more leisurely pace while prepared to take our lures readily.

We started off the morning by going back to the 'sebarau haven' channel which hosted a ready supply of sebaraus waiting to take our lures. As usual, the orange colored Rapala rattling lure was the favourite resulting in Khor and Frankie catching their fair share of fun. After almost 2 hours of casting, we decided to try elsewhere as the sebaraus here became wiser to our killer lure.
In the next stop, at the river mouth, I saw a rise of baby tomans in a distance and immediately asked the boatman to slowdown while I cast my golden Halco lure into the bubbling rise. Fish on!! Immediately the mother toman took to my golden Halco and I had a good 2 to 3 runs with the mother toman as I took it nearer to the boat. Once I brought it into the boat, we weighted it and released it with tender loving care. Not a bad start to the final day with a 2kg toman.
As we moved further into the channel, we discovered a major toman ground with several rises all around us. This was the reason for our coming to Belum. Khor was the next luckly (or skillful) one to hit a major toman and fought hard to bring it in. Weighing around 3kg, it was the biggest toman caught so far on our boat (the biggest was caught 2 days ago by 'sir' Richard... a whopper 6.5kg!!!)
By noon, we headed back to the mother boat that was waiting to remove anchor and proceed to the port. What a wonderful end to our 5 day trip in Royal Belum!
