Story:
I started at the Pemberton TH inside McDowell Mtn Park and rode the Pemberton CCW to the Coachwhip Trail and took it to Windmill Trail which takes you to the boundary with McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Once inside the preserve I continued on and took Windgate Pass (what a climb!) to the saddle and then bombed down the other side of Windgate to Desert Park Trail. This trail seems like an old service road in parts and then gets narrower as you cross a couple roads and snake thru some urban subdivisions. I took the Gateway Loop CW to 104th St TH where I took the road to get to my pickup point. This was the first time I rode any of the trail in the Preserve and I look forward to riding them again. They are very well designed and a lot of fun to ride on my Epic 29er.
