Story:
Drove from Toronto down to Nashville, Tennessee with a stopover at Louisville, Kentucky for the night. After the first full day’s driving from 630am to 8pm, it was a good decision to have booked the hotel for the night at Louisville. After the night’s sleep to get rid of the road fatigue, I decided to go for a morning easy jog at the nearby Iroquois Park.
It was still dark at 745am in the morning and the park was very quiet. I drove around the neighbourhood to find parking. There were many beautiful houses outside the park but there didn’t seem to have a spot for parking. Finally drove back to the park and found a golf park in a big parking lot.
This is a rolling hill with a 5 km loop on paved road. The road is open for traffic but it was fenced off from cars going through. Other than seeing a few joggers or cars passing by, I was basically jogging entirely by myself.
This is a beautiful park, with a side trail leading to the top of the hill with a look out. I didn’t have enough time to jog up to the top. After finishing the jog, I drove back to the hotel along Gagel Ave and passed by a large Baptist Church on my left. With the morning sun shining the trees reflecting the beautiful fall foliage, a big church at the top of the hill on the left, and country homes on the right make the scene so much like a typical Kentucky country side picture I saw in the travel magazines.
