Story:
Rick and I left from Fairhaven near Bellingham at 8:30 AM all bundled up warm and headed down Chuckanut Drive taking the back roads to Baker Lake. We went exploring and ended up at the trailhead parking lot for Blue Lake trail. The sign described a 1.5 mile hike so we decided to head up the trail. Along the way we ended up shedding all our riding gear, hiding it, and continuing our hike anticipating a great view. We didn't make it all the way to Dock Butte. KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD THE GPS ROUTE...ABOUT 3/4 OF IT IS ACCURATE BEFORE WE DIVERTED TO A NEARBY PEAK PRECEDING THE LAST DIFFICULT SECTION OF A ROCKY TRAIL. However, we hiked up to another viewpoint nearby. Amazing views, excellent trail, tasty huckleberries, and a surprise hike we didn't anticipate being so rugged and farther than 1.5 miles one way.
We returned to our Dual Sport motorcycles and headed all the way up to the end of Baker Lake before returning 73 miles back to Fairhaven watching the sunset as we drove along Chuckanut Drive.
