Story:
A flat calm foggy October day. A strange beauty about the River Shannon today. Our last boat trip on the river this year. I only GPS'sd from Leitrim Village back to Carrick on Shannon. We have travelled this way many times and always a quiet beauty found... the water perhaps..... or the knowledge that we travel a waterway that people have used since time began. The magic of Lough Key to the north west of us, Sheemore with its megalithic tomb to our north east, Lough Allen and the Ballinamore canal from Leitrim to Erne. This country to the east of the Plains of Boyle and McDermott country is a wonderful place to explore by water by foot or on a bike.

Tips:
You really do need a water craft!!! Ignore the height stats above though a 37foot drop is about right.
