Mission Peak Hike

Type: out-and-back day hike
Difficulty level: strenuous
Distance: 5.9 miles round tirp
Elevation gain: 2,200 feet
Trailhead: parking lot at the end of Stanford Ave., Fremont, CA

Take Hidden Valley trail and go all the way up
Turn left at the marker pole, OT2, to continue on Hidden Valley trail
Turn left at the marker pole, OT3, to switch to Grove trail 
Turn right at the first gate after the marker pole, MP26. to switch to Peak trail
Follow Peak trail up to the summit of Mission Peak
Reverse the same route back to the trailhead afterwards.

Bring a compass (adjust to True North) and identify the following landscape features at the observation pole of Mission Peak:

Mcguire Peak (1,688 ft.) - 48° / 3.4 miles
Flag Hill (1,360 ft.) - 73° / 2.8 miles
Rose Peak (3,817 ft.) - 91° / 8.6 miles
Mt. Hamilton (4,213 ft.) - 132° / 17.6 miles
Tolman Peak (997 ft.) - 320° / 9.2 miles
Sunol Peak (2,169 ft.) - 343° / 7.7 miles
Mt. Diablo (3,864 ft.) - 356° / 25.5 miles
