Story:
This was a repeat hike for me. I reversed directions for a different look at the park. Sunol is one of my go-to hikes and it did not disappoint. This park is nice to hike year round to watch the changing seasons. Fall is in the air and the Indian Joe Trail had much fall color contrast. I think that the Indian Joe Nature Trail is one of the most scenic in the park. It had rained the night before so the leaves made that trail a bit slick. We cut over to Hayfield Road to avoid the wet leaves.

There are bathrooms in the parking lot and clean water. They are often out of trail maps so I suggest downloading a copy of the trail map from www. ebrpd.com ( East Bay Regional Park District).
Tips:
Down load a trail map ahead of time in case one is not available in the park. Pack plenty of water as this area can get hot. Scan and be aware of snakes.
