Story:
"This 8.8 mile trail begins at US 62 north of Tidioute, PA and travels southeasterly to the Hearts Content Recreation Area and finally links with the North Country National Scenic Trail at Dunham Siding. The northerly part of this trail passes through the Allegheny National Recreation Area which offers some of the most primitive woodlands on the Allegheny Plateau. " US Forest Service
We hiked this trail from US 62 to the Hearts Content Area in 3 round trip sections and joined them into one GPS track.
The GPS distance reflex our return to our starting trailheads. We also spent a considerable amount of time on our third trip exploring a rock formation that is reflected in the GPS time.
There is a natural spring that locals use to fill water containers located on road this trail crosses as well as a couple of really nice rock formations you will travel through.

Tips:
From the trailhead on US 62 the first mile you ascend from 1200 to 1875 feet. This can be a pretty hefty climb on a hot, humid day.
You can also break this trail up into sections as you will be able to find parking along state roads the trail crosses.
