Round trip hike to the summit of Mt. Scott located in Crater Lake National Park.
Round trip hike to the summit of Mt. Scott located in Crater Lake National Park.
Tips:
I decided to attempt this hike after reading about it in 100 Hikes in Southern Oregon by William L. Sullivan (ISBN: 09815701-35). My 11-year old daughter managed the hike. No pets are allowed on the trails in the park. There is a $10 fee to enter Crater Lake National Park and the pass is good for 7 days. This is a spectacular hike with sweeping vistas of the lake with many opportunities for picture taking. At the summit, there are two benchmarks and an inaccessible fire lookout tower. No restrooms or water along the way. Be sure to bring along plenty of water, food, proper gear for changing weather conditions.
