Lake Chabot Loop

Story:
This is an excellent hike for the summer season in the Bay Area.  The  tree cover and the morning fog tend to make it cooler than other  local hikes.  This hike is paved on both sides of the marina for about a mile and a half for handicapped walkers.  There are nice (non-pit) restrooms at the marina and lots of shaded picnic areas.

This was a pleasant surprise the first time I hiked it.  The large trees, ferns and different groves of trees make this hike special.  There is one uphill area and a few gradual incline areas.  I would rate this trail easy for difficulty and moderate for length.  I have seen a flock of wild turkeys, deer, lots of waterfowl and the resident swan.
This is one of my favorite hikes during the summer months.
Tips:
Bring a camera.  Lots of opportunity of different landscape and wildlife pictures.
