Story:
Really nice hike in the hills and forests west of the valley between Wynigen and Herzogenbuchsee. The Steinenberg is dotted with sometimes huge erratic rocks from the last ice age (hence its name) and that part of the hike is particularly interesting.
Tips:
The guidebook "20 Wanderungen Region bern Emmental" by Franz auf der Maur (Werd Verlag 2003) is particularly rich in new trekking ideas.

Very nice. Reminds me of the Sunday walks we used to take with our young daughter on the Tourisme Pedestre trails of Suisse Romande - remarkably accessible, scenic, and civilized.
