Story:
A great family friendly hike with reasonable elevation gain.... The trailhead is well marked and leads to some of the Holy Cross range... The wild flowers in later July were absoilutely incredible and truly added to the hike and maximizing the interest level of the kids.
The trailhead starts around 11,040 feet and ascends to the Ridge Trail at 11,800 where you can continue right to the Shrine Mountain Summit or you can travel left up to Wingle Ridge. Both routes provide outstanding vistas and incredible wildflower scenerary.
A must hike if you are in the Vail Pass region and looking for a great wildflower hike in July and August!
