Story:
This is a good hike for anyone looking to complete the 20 mile hike for the Boy Scouts Hiking merit badge.
The trail surface is great, it is marked well and is not technical in any way. Nor does it have any significant climbs or descents.

That said, you do need pick up and drop off service at both ends and 20 miles is a whomping long hike, even for those who are up to it.
Yes, my quads are still stinging, thank you very much!
A couple of quick comments. Start is near the intersection of 9 & 236. The trail crosses Highway 9 about 200 yards north of the intersection with 236 (take 9 about 200 yards towards Saratoga).
There are lots of other places to jump on this trail, but starting here gives you just about exactly 20 miles.
Pick up is at Waddell Beach. When we hiked this, we went essentially straight through with maybe three rest stops of 10 minutes or so.
