Story:
We rented bicycles from the By the Sea Apartments to ride down to the Rainforest Habitat Wildlift Sanctuary.  The trip works well to go out by the road along the mixed-used trail and back on the packed sand beach, downwind.

The Habitat itself is great fun.  The big aviary makes excellent birdwatching.  The ticket was good for several consecutive days, so we went back the next day for more birdwatching.

This little ride is highly recommended.
Tips:
You can also rent bikes from Port Douglas Bike Hire.
