Story:
We took the Don Cecil trail to hike to the top of Lookout peak. The trail head is close to the Sentinel Camp ground. (Camp ground permits are alloted on a first -come-first-serve basis. Self-registration. It is easy to get them). Don Cecil trail goes almost all the way to the top of the peak except for the last quarter mile. It was partially covered with snow above 6700ft elevation, but it was not a problem. Take the faint trail (last quarter mile, unmaintained with a lot of gravel and boulders) and follow the cairns until you reach the summit. Lookout peak summit is at an elevation of 8500 ft and you can enjoy great views!

Tips:
Take enough water. Takes about 6 to 7 hours roundtrip if one doesn't stop for taking photographs.
