Story:
Cold and rainy weather in the morning so we planned only a short hike, but as we started off the sun came out and the temps climbed. By the time we got to our turn-around point we decided to add on a few extra miles.

Cook's Ridge is an interesting climb through old growth ecosystems, storm treefalls, and areas that had been logged of ancient trees a few decades ago.
Lush is the best way to describe the undergrowth.

The descent along Gwynn Creek is amazing. We must have crossed half a dozen waterfalls. Some of the trees are so tall it hurts to look up at them.

A nice treat on this loop is that we end up with about a mile hike along the shoreline in full view of the Pacific.
Tips:
rain or shine this hike would be wonderful.
