Story:
I'm fortunate to live only 5 minutes from here. A loop paddle over three nautical miles makes a great training ground for paddling exercise and preparation for kayak races such as the Deception Pass Dash, in December. Tumwater Falls at the South end of the lake is spectacular during heavy rainfall. Historically, this is one of the earliest settlements on the Puget Sound, and flour and timber mills were near the falls here. With a GPS my 3.7 mile loop takes me around 45 minutes with an average speed of 4.6 mph. www.GAguides.net
Tips:
Marathon Park is open until 11pm so this is a great spot for evening training, and full moon tours. To book a a slower paced guided tour email info@gaguides.net or visit www.GAguides.net
