Boltby Forest - England, United Kingdom

A short run round Boltby forest that used to be waymarked for mountain biking but now you are free to make up your own route providing you keep to designated routes within the forest.

My main point of advice would be, be aware that this has some big long climbs as the whole forest is on the Hambleton hillside, but in turn this gives you some lovely long downhill sections, so take from it what you will.  Anything written up for this ride suggests that you start from Sneck Yate Bank carpark which is where I started this from.  The only problem with that is you start riding at the top of the forest and it is all down hill to start then all uphill to get back to your car.
I have yet to find another place to park at the bottom of the forest to go uphill first!

As you can see from the map the forest is quite large and I only did a small section of it but I would say that this could be quite a strenuous ride, but there are some beautiful views from the top of the forest.  The decent from the top to the reservoir at the bottom is aprox. 700ft
