Story:
Fiery Furnace is a very cool place in Arches National Park. The formations you are hiking through are called fins. There are no maps available for this section, nor are there trails. In order to go into Fiery Furnace you either go along with a ranger guided tour, or go buy a permit for the area. The only restriction is you have to watch your step. There is endangered dirt all throughout the area, and stepping on this dirt causes decades worth of damage.
There are some very cool things in here, a lot of overlooks (if you figure out how to get up on the ridges). A mini arch in there somewhere (go find it!). Ton's of rocks to go scrambling over.

Tips:
I'd recommend going in on your own, it gives you the freedom of exploring the area.
We probably spent about three hours in the Fiery Furnace. We all agreed that we could have spent six hours.

I have been in the Fiery Furnace a few times, it is one of my favorite places to go around Moab. I live here and my wife works in Arches N.P.
