The next morning, we brought back some breakfast (and failed miserably: the sweet bread was, in fact, covered in salt, not sugar, and the coffee pot backed up twice, covering the countertops with coffee ground slush, but at least the orange juice was good). Once again we headed up on the Gondola and started on the front side, where we had many runs that we hadn't yet seen.  After quickly realizing that the runs were too icy, we went back to our old stomping grounds on the sunnier side while we waited for the ice to melt a little.

After warming up, the snow was great, and the weather was again just beautiful (55 degrees, open jacket, no had, sunglasses only!).  We practiced our ability to take videos while riding down the mountain, which came out much worse than we had originally thought (lots of bouncing).  I have to tell you, going straight down an expert run (Well, Northstar Expert that is...), ski polls under one arm, camera in the other, trying to follow someone and thinking more about where they are than the bumps ahead of you is a bit nerve-wracking.

We held off on Lunch for a while, but the sirens song of warm chili made twice the size with cheese, onions, salsa, and peppers finally lured us to the top of the mountain for a quick break.  With only an hour left of skiing for the weekend (and likely the season), we wasted no time waiting for each other and squeezed out as many runs as we could before going back to the lodge and relaxing with a cold beer and a warm fire.  We waited a few hours for traffic to die down before heading back to Truckee for dinner at the local diner, and then continuing back to the bay area with only a few brief traffic delays.

I was exhausted, in pain, but very happy that I managed to get in a few days of Spring skiing at the end of the season.  Hopefully I don't forget everything I improved upon by next season (spoiler alert: I will).
