Story:
Went to Elk Mountain trail and Elk Creek trail in Tallamook National Forest, Oregon. From the top of Elk Mountain you can see from Mt. Hood to the coast and it is a view to remember. Be prepared for a good hike to the top, the Mountain trail is a difficult hike and you will use your hands on several occasions. Within 1 mile you go up 2000 ft. and you will feel it. In hind-site I would first take the Elk Creek Trail and come back on Mountain trail. Elk Creek trail is a gradual incline for the first 2 miles and it's great for mountain biking. Both trails meet on the backside of the mountain so you can do a loop or come back the other trail.
