Story:
Trapper42 and I decided to explore some new area so we headed out for Jordan Craters near Jordan Valley, Oregon.

It was cold and windy this last day of November.  My face began to freeze almost immediately and I had thoughts of turning back.  Thankfully I found a bandana and trudged on.  We did not see anyone else out there this day.  I can only guess why.

Our first stop was Coffeepot Crater, but the primary goal was to visit the old Morcum Ranch and then see if we would be able to cross the Owyhee River, making a big loop to the north, returning eventually back to the vehicles.  When we got to the ranch overlook, we decided daylight was running a little short and put this trip on our to do list.

On the way back we made a quick albeit short dash down Birch Creek Road (which is more of a trail) to the rim of the canyon overlooking the Owyhee River canyon and Birch Creek.

Overall the trip did not go as planned but then again we went with the purpose of exploring some new areas, which we did.  We got some great photographs of the canyon land so it certainly was not a waste.

This is definitely an area that will be visited again, during warmer weather.
Tips:
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
