Story:
Been a while since Roo(my Boxer dog) has been hiking as he doesn't like the heat so we came out for a quick jaunt through quick.

We headed across New Almaden which is an awesome trail,  never crowded and beautiful views.  I'd recently read about wasp galls so I was out looking for them today,  I only had to check a few live oaks to find some.  If you've never seen them take a look,  the formations are really interesting and make for good close up photography.

After a while we got to prospect to start some vertical up to mine hill.  Fortunately there's a lot of strategically placed picnic tables in quick so you're alywas able to stop and take a break after a decent climb.

At Bull Run I spotted a golden eagle I think... see picture.  We left when a large group showed up.

Then headed around to the old furnace and headed out down Great Eastern which is a great little single track.

All in all a nice fall hike.
