Story:
I was a little anxious about going out alone today but I decided that the weather was good and the wind was ok to fly in (about 5mph). So to hell with it. I drove to mom and dads to pick up the PPG and headed over to the airport.

When I got there it appeared that the wind was coming from the south even though TAFS stated it was coming from NNE. I set up the gear in the centre of the field and faced it south. I was a little worried that I may not have enough space to get altitude before the buildings so I set up as far back as I could. I needn't have worried because with in 30' I was up and climbing like crazy. By the time I was at the level of the Buildings I was at 220'. I continued to head south at about 30 kmh over the river and fields up to an altitude of 750'.

I was getting nervous that time was running short so I decided to turn back to the field and land. As I turned I found that my speed increased to 40 kph and then realized that TAFS had been right all along and it was just the wind at ground level that was coming from the south. Not a problem the wind was low enough that I cruised into a very soft landing.

After landing I disconnected the wing and checked the fuel. I still had a good half a tank left so I topped it up and set up for my next flight. Again no problem with the launch and I was gaining altitude well. I turned left to the north east and headed over towards Sparrow Lakes golf course where I took a couple of pictures. I headed north and flew briefly over mom and dads house at about 550' and took a picture of the court. Next year I'm going to take a picture of the court for the party!

I decided that it was getting a little cold and that I should be heading back to the field. I took me a few minutes and I decided to land in to the wind this time. Again an uneventful landing. I packed the wing up with a huge smile on my face and headed back to mom and dads.

flight 22 and 23 total one hour

Gwailo, the next time you get the urge to parasail think about planning a recorded trip of the Grand River, just follow the Grand River, in either direction, most likely to start at Dundalk, Ontario, the source, and then all the way down to the mouth at Lake Erie. Since your Mom and Dad live nearby, I'm guessing, O' Reilys Bridge on the Grand River. Now that would be something to have a record of, a record of a Heritage River. And the probable interested parties would be me Graham Hill - sixnationsgrandriverterritory@gmail.com, G.R.C.A - Grand River Conservation Authority,
Six Nations Elected Band Council, Haudenosaunee Development Institute - H.D.I.
and those guys that run the canoe trips,
RiverBend Restaurant, for the tourists,
and for the tourists to pick up anywhere. Just think of the extra cash you could make and all you have to do for me for the idea is one copy of the "Six Nations Grand River Territory" mouth to source or source to mouth flight. Think about it anyway, and if you can email me on your progress, maybe I can help.
