This is an area I hike quite a bit - the Seminole Ranch in Christmas Florida. I parked next to the RV park on RT50 in Christmas. On this day I took the orange blazed Florida Trail up to the game checkin station on Wheeler Road. I normally stop there and have lunch - there is a screened in area with a picnic table. I take a lot of photos around here because the butterflies, dragonflies, flowers, frogs and other wild things are plentiful around there. I then returned to the parking area using the white blazed trail. It is always an enjoyable hike because of what you get to see in the area. The actual distance hiked was almost 9 miles.
There are all kinds of areas to explore in the Seminole Ranch. There are a number of pastures to the west of the trails and the St Johns River area to the east. Be aware that some areas can get pretty wet during the Florida \"wet season\". This is an area shared with hunters, so make yourself familiar with the local hunting schedule. The Orlando Wetlands is just down Wheeler Road from the game checkin station.
