Westminster Hikes the Desoto Scout Trail

Story: A nice family hike with Westminster Presbyterian Hiking Club. Started out not really knowing where the trailhead was. Went back to the lodge, where one of the park staff told us to just walk behind the cabins to get to the scout trail. We had an interesting trip from behind cabin 19 through a rarely used steep and rocky trail that got us by the river bank and eventually merged with the Scout River Trail. Met up with the river's edge to another rarely used trail with heavy plants. Water levels were very low. Had a great time with the group, weather was beautiful.
Tips: The Falcon guide for this trail is outdated. The trailhead is no longer marked as shown in the Falcon Hiking Guide. Better to start the trail for the parking lot by the falls, which is marked much better. Some of the trail that go down to the Scout Trail are very steep and have significant overgrowth and rocks down the sides of the trails.
