Story: HEALTH AND ETHICS POLICIES

My first attempt at anything over 12 miles!

I went with two experienced long-distance, high-altitude hikers, and the pace was brisk at an average speed
of 2.6 mph. Unfortunately, a low lying marine layer persisted most of the nine
hour day, except at the very end, when the sky cleared close to the destination
at Pantoll Ranger Station at Mt. Tamalpaias.

Once home, I celebrated with a long hot shower and a steak & lobster dinner. This is the first time I
have ever hiked over 12 miles. The GPS altimeter was not calibrated correctly and
the actual altitude gain was just short of 6500 feet, based on another GPS
which was working properly.

Wow, never over 12 miles and you doubled that! ****** That's one long hike, and quite a lot of elevation...better than Whitney!! :)
