I attempted Bighorn ridge to Mt. Baldy once in 2009 and I attempted it once in 2009 and twice in 2010 and failed. On the first try I went up to the ridge way south near where the trailer and motorhome are parked and made only to about 4,700'. In 2010 I think I found a less brushy way than your route by starting up another third of a mile from your ascent where I ultimately hit the ridge top at about 5,800'. It was late so I left close to 2 gallons of water there and returned the same way back to my car. I came back two weeks later went up the same way (which I periodically marked with yellow "CAUTION" tape),picked up my 2 gallon water cache and made it to peak 6,380 o.k. but shortly thereafter my legs cramped up real bad and I could barely make up to peak 7,240' before turning back.In 2012,May 5,I hiked down the ridge from Mt.Baldy to 7,240 then climbed back up to my camp on Mt.Baldy.

yes short car shuttle (mile or two). this is quite a tough hike, much cross-country hiking, be sure to read the trip report before attempting!

I noticed you didn't start and end at the same location. Did you have 2 cars? This looks like an awesome hike to train for Whitney.
