Story:
I attended Backcountry Weekend for the fifth year running this year. Each year we do something progressively more difficult.
On Friday night we hiked from Orestimba Corral to Pacheco Camp and set up camp, then made a quick side trip to the truly amazing Pacheco Falls. The night was extremely windy and cold, much more than I had expected so it was into the sleeping bag early to stay warm.
On Saturday we split with Laurent(vaudesir) who unfortunately had to head home and headed up to Mississippi Lake via Pacheco Ridge. After setting up camp at Mississippi Lake we met up with Rebecca(calipidder) and some others. We all headed off for a tough side trip to Bear Mountain Peak via the beautiful Bear Springs Trail to grab a geocache that I had DNF'd two years ago.
On Sunday we hiked out via the Hartman trail and along Orestimba creek.
All in all a wonderful weekend with a couple of toe rubbing blisters and two tick bites but nothing terrible. Just wished I would have packed some more cool weather clothes, I'd been used to three very hot years in Coe in '06, '07 and '08 so I was not fully prepared for the wind and cold during the evenings.
Pictures(many) later. :-)

Very nice. Thanks for posting all these pics. Looks like a beautiful weekend in henry coe. I camped there once, but never got quite as far into the park.
