The Southern Walkway is around 12 kms from Island Bay to Oriental Bay. Some seriously great views of Wellington plus some great undiscovered tracks along the way.
The Southern Walkway is around 12 kms from Island Bay to Oriental Bay. Some seriously great views of Wellington plus some great undiscovered tracks along the way.
You start off from Shorland Park walking around the bays to Houghton Bay. Then up the hill through Melrose and Mt Albert. Then you head down through Newtown hitting the boundary of the zoo and seeing the orangutans.
Head down to Kilbirnie, then up Mt Victoria. Eventually hit the lookout, and finally a winding path down to Oriental Bay, with some stunning views on the way.
