Story:
There are a lot of options for a day hike that is friendly for the family, and this has to be one of the best. Judging on the number of cars in the lot, other people share this same opinion. The trail crosses several bridges, meanders along the creek with some great falls, crosses in and out of burn areas - showing how the forest recovers from such an event, passes a handful of great backcountry campsites, and provides access to a wide variety of additional hiking and camping options in the area.
Tips:
Get there early, or plan on extending your hike from the car to the trailhead. This area is within the RMNP boundaries and is subject to the bark entrance fee. If weather will allow, arriving later in the day might open up some parking options.
