Burnt Meadow Mountain - Maine, United States

Story:
We have hiked on this trail many times but we have never climbed to the summit. There are some great views without much effort but after our first visit about 7 years ago, we finally did the full loop to the summit.

It was a warm day and the bugs were amazingly plentiful. Bring lots of deet-laced bug spray. We had an all-natural bug spray that didn't do the job very well. It's a full deet spray kind of trail.

We saw lots of frogs hopping across the trail, saw a couple of small snakes and plenty of birds singing and easily visible at the peak.

The climb to the north peak was a challenge but we liked the open rocks at the last hundred feet. The view from the summit was beautiful and well-worth the effort.

We had hoped to find the geological marker but were disappointed after much scouring the north peak that we couldn't find it. Next time!
Tips:
Bug spray is a MUST on this trail
