Story:
Was going to drop my family off at Shotgun Creek and then hit this hike. Unfortunately we were a week early and Shotgun Creek Park doesn't open until first weekend in May. Luckily my wife still let me drive up and do this hike.
Was going to drop my family off at Shotgun Creek and then hit this hike. Unfortunately we were a week early and Shotgun Creek Park doesn't open until first weekend in May. Luckily my wife still let me drive up and do this hike.
It starts off behind a pile of rocks and a chain link fence that keep vehicles off the trail. You will walk through a forest and as the road steadily climbs, you will also step over fallen trees across the path.
Eventually the trail opens up into a meadow with cool rock formations and views of the Three Sisters. The trail splits around a rock knoll. Keep going up and you will come to Horse Rock with a neat little cave under it.
