Tips:
I started at Reedy Creek and walked out to 42nd street and back, before starting towards Belle Island the north bank. You could also just park at 42nd street and start from there.

I used two cars for a one-way hike. An out-an-back would be fairly straightforward (but obviously double the distance).
The "spike" in elevation near the beginning is the 42nd street stairs up to the walkway over the railroad tracks. I walked up to the top for a better view of birds in the tree canopy.
