Story:
6 of us took off for Twin Bridges & Monteserio Ranch. It was another beautiful day and you could see for miles and miles. After a somewhat rocky ride we arrived at Twin Bridges only to see some moron in a 2 wheel drive pickup stuck in the creek blocking the roadway.
Now this ding dong had to of went through the creek, turned around and got stuck. You can see where he tried to get the pickup out of the creek but to no avail. It appears that he was alone, so he must of walked out somewhere, anywhere is a long walk to civilazation.
Gary called the Owyhee county sheriff and they said they heard of the pickup plate number and that the guy was a trapper. It did not sound like they were too concerned with the pickup or him, so off we went.
We then traveled to the Monasterio ranch, the wood structure house was fairly intact except the roof was tumbling down. The rock house was built in 1923 and appeared to be pretty modern for its time.
It has lath and plaster walls and very thick walls for climate control...okay of some sort that is.
This and other ranches are scattered throughout the area, pockets of private land nestelled in mostly BLM country. The places that have sold has word that Simplot Corporation has purchased most the the land in the area.
We then had a leisurely ride back to camp, all had a good time.
