Story:
The views from Black Mountain are breath-taking. Having been up there from the East side, I wanted to explore the Western approach. Most other trips to Black Mountain originate from the Monte Bello parking lot off of Page Mill road... This track originates off of Route 35.

Only the 1st half of the hike is in the shade - rest of it isn't. On this trail we crossed smaller creeks and then finally crossed Stevens creek - three wooden bridges. At this time of year, after the recent storms, there was a healthy flow through Stevens creek making for wonderful flowing water sounds.
Spotted a wild turkey - a good 4.5 feet tall - waddling along in front of us for several hundred yards!
