Met with an old HS distance-running teammate (graduated latter '60's) whom I've only seen once since. Great 7+ mile hike round the perimeter of Silver Creek Falls State Park. Spectacular scenery; great trail system; spring rainfall fills up all the waterfalls. Lunch in Silverton following. 45 minutes from Salem. 1.5 hrs from Portland.

Tips:
I enjoy starting at the N. Falls, and earlier in the morning. Approx 3 hours to do the loop at a moderate pace. About 3700' vertical up/down.
