Badlands: Flatiron Rock Trail - Oregon, United States

This trip was created using EveryTrail. Like what you see? Get the FREE iPhone App and share your trips.
Story:
Easy hike along a sandy trail, very flat.  Atop Flat Iron Rock, on a clear day, you can see the full cascade range from Bachelor out to Mt Hood.  To the East we could see the Strawberry Mountains as well.

Some cool lava rock formations at Flat Iron Rock.  Lots of really old Juniper trees along the trail.  Love the smell of juniper and sage.

We were hoping to see some wildflowers, but they were already all dried up.  I'm guessing if you went in late March/first week of April is the time to see them.
Tips:
Bring water, especially in the summer time.  Also sunscreen and a hat as there isn't much shade along the trail.
