Story:
This trip occurred on a sunny, cool day in April.  The wind was blowing up to 15 MPH in the open areas.  The hike alternated between open fields and wooded areas.

At .3 miles, there was an out and back detour to view the Salmon cemetary.  It sits right off the trail in a small bushy area.  There are two headstones from the early 1900's.  There is also a much older stone that sits inside a fence.  It has deteriorated so as to be illegible.

At 1.75 miles, you will cross a small creek.  Here was discovered golden ragwort (see picture).  Flycatchers flitted in the trees.  At 2.2 miles, there is a turn-off along the edge of a field.  There is no sign - follow the track.  At about 2.5 miles, you will cross the same creek again.  In the woods along this creek, several warblers were heard.  A black-and-white warbler was seen at the top of the next hill.

At 3 miles, a cut-over field appeared.  An American kestrel was seen perched and surveying the field.  The photo shows his perch (missed him). From this point. it is 1.2 miles or so back to the parking area.
Tips:

There are several easy creek crossings but it might be wise to wear water-proof shoes.  The turn-off for the parking area on Route 13 has no sign and there are signs indicating it is a private drive.  Just keep going (slowly) to the end.  My auto GPS send me off on a wild goose chase, but fortunately my off-trail GPS got me there.
