Story:

We hiked in knowing that a storm front was due to come in at about 2:00pm.  We arrived at Dewey Point around 1:00pm.  At 1:30, the storm front hit and we retreated back into the trees and set up camp in a dense stand of trees just south of the trail.  Winds were gusting around us at 30mph, but the grove sheltered us from the worst of this.  We had continuous snowfall the rest of the day.

The next morning, we woke up to a "winter wonderland."  It was 22F when we got out of our 'bags.  After breakfast and packing up we went down to the point where the new snow provided a magical ambience and some neat views through the low clouds hovering in the Valley. The trek back was a little tougher breaking through fresh snow, until we met up with day hikers coming in from the other direction.  We were glad to see each other.  Back at the car, a little digging out was needed.

Tips:
Obtain a wilderness pass at the ranger station at Badger Pass ski area.  They will issue you a car permit for overnight parking near the trailhead.
The ranger also offered us free "wag bags" to take in with us to deal with proper wintertime fecal matter disposal.
