Story:
The original owners were the Boonerwurrung people.
From 1889 until the 1960s it had many uses including sand extraction and grazing.
The Royal Botanic Gardens of Cranbourne was established in 1970.
But it wasn't until 1989 that it was first opened to the public.

Tips:
When you arrive at the gardens head for the "Australian Garden" because it is by far the highlight of the Royal Botanic Gardens of Cranbourne.
Take the track to Trig Point Lookout to get a 360 degree view of the area.
