Story:
Just about every March Troop 114 does a 10 mile hike starting at Ft. Kearny SRA.  We used to hike from the campground to the east side of Bassway Strip and Highway 10 but a little more than 3 years ago the old rail road bridge that crossed the Platte River was burned in a controlled burn gone bad.

Now we hike from the campground to the bridge and then back to camp.  Take some time and eat lunch then drive to the east side of Bassway Strip and hike to the north end of the bridge.

This is the second leg of the hike to the north side of the bridge.

We had 13 boys and 3 adults make the hike.  They all did very well.  It was warm for March in Nebraska about 84 degrees F.  You can see from the pictures that the boys got a little hot.
