Story:
Mount Washington would be a fairly easy hike in the summer months, so it is just right for an early season hike since there will still be several feet of snow through March. It's easy to get to (from Seattle) and has a nice trailhead, and not that crowded (probably due to the snow). Snow on the trail after .5 miles, but the trail was nicely beaten down so I hiked the whole way just in my boots (without micro spikes or snowshoes). I put my micro spikes on for the return and they helped. I did not have my snowshoes this day but could have used them near the end of the hike or if I went off the beaten path at all. Had nice weather on this day.

Tips:
Bring micro spikes or snowshoes, and warm sake would not be a bad idea either!
