Story:
This is one of the more popular trails in Grand Teton. My hiking buddy and I day hiked from the trailhead at the southwest side of Jenny Lake, to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point, then west through Cascade Canyon and then took the North Fork (views of the Grand Teton and Mt. Owen) on to Lake Solitude.
Distance:18.4 mile round-trip
Time: about 7.5 hours,
Elevation change: 2252 ft.
Tips:
Start early, take the ferry across Jenny Lake to shave off 4 miles round trip. If you are a fast hiker, you might instead choose to do the Paintbrush-Cascade Canyon loop for an additional mile or two (19.2 miles for the loop, starting from String Lake through Paintbrush Canyon and Cascade Canyon and ending at Jenny Lake (then catch a ride back to String Lake) as a day hike.
