Story:
A gorgeous trail on Black Island. Black Island was slated for development in the 1960's. The canals through the Island were dredged during that period. In 1983 the state of Florida acquired the lands. The trail takes you through a maritime hammock of palms and other emerging plants. There is much wildlife on the island including wading birds and marsh rabbits. The trail is hard packed dirt with numerous trail markers along the way.
