Story:
a good day for a drive to a far corner of the rain forest past Nitinaht to the Carmanah/Walbran. took a picture of buddy "Al's" old windsurfing rental and sales (sails?) trailer in the village beside the gas station/store..stopped at the bridge over Caycuse River (five pics) and there was ice along the roadside....managed to get in and spend some time reviewing Sprise Lake (a place where over SIXTY trout) were caught in a two day period with my Father and Cousin Murf over 40 years ago...will try to get a fraction of that catch sometime ahead..iPhone didn't track the route coming out the Lake Cowichan side...that's where the Christmas decorated house is...more roads being built RIGHT ON THE BORDER of the Carmanah/Walbran Park....sad...road blasting happening and some big timber (like the olde days) being hauled out...like five logs per truck-BIG (OLD) TIMBER...some loads of pecker poles too though...had a small fire..hot chocolate and Gran Marnier then the drive home..a nice way to spend a day off mid-week on Beautiful Vancouver Island.
